Notes about the Embassy/Consulate for Nigeria
Important Note: The Nigerian Embassy and Consulate General (NYC) introduced (October 01, 2007) a web-based online visa application which must be fully completed online and then printed. This application process can be difficult as it requires setting up a payment account prior to completing the form. The purpose of this is to allow the Nigerian government to collect an “application fee”. This fee is $180 and must be paid before continuing to complete the online form. Once completed, there will be a receipt and the actual visa application form provided to you online. Print both and submit with your visa application. The fees indicated on our site are an additional “Consular Fee” and if you need your visa issued quickly the fees increase. Do not pay the Rush Fee ONLINE; this is a fee to be paid at the Embassy. Just pay the $180 only online.
