Notes about Myanmar (Burma) Business Visa
The Myanmar ETA visa is available as an option. There are some restrictions in obtaining your visa this way and some possible potential problems. First of all, the visa is NOT issued by the Myanmar Government but rather a 3rd party called evisa. This removes any liability from evisa as they have no authority but rather are a 3rd party ecommerce entity. We have had cases where travelers arrive and are either fined or refused entry due to problems with the Electronic visa. Secondly, government authorities in the USA and elsewhere may not be aware of the evisa’s authenticity and may prevent the traveler from continuing on their trip. Believe it or not the second reason is the most common. The way we look at it is this: The Consular fee you will pay no matter what and the evisa total fee is $50 tourist and $60 business. Our fee to process the physical visa is $95 and the Consular fee is $20 (there are some nominal fees for shipping etc to be added), but basically if you add it up its about $100 more to get your visa before you travel and avoid any unnecessary problems which can and do occur along the way. You have likely spent a lot of money on your trip, and to take a risk over the $100 savings doesn’t make sense to most folks. That’s how we look at it and that is why we don’t offer the ETA option. If you still want to process your Myanmar visa as an ETA you may contact the Embassy of Myanmar for further information or call us at our toll free number.
Notes about the Embassy/Consulate for Myanmar (Burma)
The Standard business visa is a single entry visa. There is an extended validity visa available at a greater Consular fee and has stipulations to it: You must have a Formal Invitation from a Host or Sponsor in Myanmar (email is fine) and you must show evidence of at lease 3 previously issued visas regardless of the purpose of travel (color copies are accepted)
